"..the world begins at a kitchen table.."

Perhaps the World Ends Here
Joy Harjo - 1951

The world begins at a kitchen table. No matter
what, we must eat to live.

The gifts of earth are brought and prepared, set
on the table. So it has been since creation,
 and it will go on.

We chase chickens or dogs away from it. Babies teethe at the corners. They scrape their
 knees under it.

It is here that children are given instructions on
what it means to be human. We make men
 at it, we make women.

At this table we gossip, recall enemies and the
ghosts of lovers.

Our dreams drink coffee with us as they put their arms around our children. They laugh with
us at our poor falling-down selves and as we
put ourselves back together once again at
the table.

This table has been a house in the rain, an
umbrella in the sun.

Wars have begun and ended at this table. It is a place to hide in the shadow of terror. A
place to celebrate the terrible victory.

We have given birth on this table, and have
prepared our parents for burial here.

At this table we sing with joy, with sorrow. We
pray of suffering and remorse. We give
 thanks.

Perhaps the world will end at the kitchen table,
while we are laughing and crying, eating of
the last sweet bite.

I remember the moment when You saved my soul
Desperate and broken and You made me whole
Oh, I once was an orphan 'til You brought me home
I remember the moment when You saved my soul

You've been nothing but good
Nothing but good to me
You've been nothing but kind
Nothing but kind to me

All of my days, time after time
You've been faithful all my life
You've been nothing but good
God, You are good to me

Jesus, there's nothing that Your love can't do
You parted the oceans and You brought me through
Lifted up from the ashes, You make all things new
Jesus, there's nothing that Your love can't do

You've been nothing but good
Nothing but good to me
You've been nothing but kind
Nothing but kind to me
All of my days, time after time
You've been faithful all my life
You've been nothing but good
God, You are good to me

I want to say thank You, thank You
For everything You've done
I will praise You, praise You
For all that's yet to come
I want to say thank You, thank You
For everything You've done
God I will praise You, praise You
For all that's yet to come

You've been nothing but good
Nothing but good to me
You've been nothing but kind
Nothing but kind to me
All of my days, time after time
You've been faithful

You've been nothing but good
Nothing but good to me
You've been nothing but kind
Nothing but kind to me
All of my days, time after time
You've been faithful all my life
You've been nothing but good
God, You are good to me

"..take the story a little bit farther…

Would have been Betty Ann Boone Wallwork’s Birthday today. April was the month we celebrated a few birthdays and this year she is on our minds ♥️
We would always have a wonderful time. She certainly left a legacy in her children, and grandchildren and great grand-kids 🙏🏼🌸

“All I know is that, at any moment, life will surprise me. It will bring me to my knees, and when it does, I will remind myself, I will remind myself that I am my father. And I am my father’s father. I am my mother. And I am my mother’s mother. And while it may be easy to wallow in the tragedies that shape our lives, and while it’s natural to focus on those unspeakable moments that bring us to our knees, we must remind ourselves that if we get up, if we take the story a little bit farther…
If we go far enough, there’s love.
So you go now, give me a beautiful life. The most beautiful life ever. Yeah? And if life brings us to our knees, you stand us back up. You get up and go farther, and find us the love. Will you do that?”
