"The grass withers,and the flower falls,"

for
“All flesh is like grass
    and all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
    and the flower falls,
 but the word of the Lord remains forever.”
 1 Peter 1:24-25 ESV

As for man, his days are like grass;
    he flourishes like a flower of the field;
Psalm 103:15 ESV

A voice says, “Cry!”
    And I said, “What shall I cry?”
The grass withers, the flower fades
    when the breath of the Lord blows on it;
    surely the people are grass.
Isaiah 40:6-7

You sweep them away as with a flood; they are like a dream,
    like grass that is renewed in the morning:
in the morning it flourishes and is renewed;
    in the evening it fades and withers.
Psalm 90:5-6

Jesus performed this miracle, the first of His signs, in Cana of Galilee. They did not know how this happened; but when the disciples and the servants witnessed this miracle,
 their faith blossomed.
John 2:11 (The Voice)

"When down-and-outers get a break, cheer! And when the arrogant rich are brought down to size, cheer! Prosperity is as short-lived as a wildflower, so don’t ever count on it. You know that as soon as the sun rises, pouring down its scorching heat, the flower withers. Its petals wilt and, before you know it, that beautiful face is a barren stem. Well, that’s a picture of the “prosperous life.”
At the very moment everyone is looking on in admiration, it fades away to nothing."
James 1:9-11 (MSG)

 This will happen if you continue ·strong [grounded; established] and ·sure [firm; steadfast] in your faith. You must not ·be moved [shift; drift] away from the hope ·brought to you by [or found in;of] the ·Good News [the Gospel] that you heard. That same ·Good News [Gospel] has been ·told [preached; proclaimed] to ·everyone [every creature; or in all creation]
 ·in the world [under heaven],
Colossians 1:23 (EXB)

A voice says, Cry [prophesy]! And I said, What shall I cry? [The voice answered, Proclaim:] All flesh is as frail as grass, and all that makes it attractive [its kindness, its goodwill, its mercy from God, its glory and comeliness, however good] is transitory, like the flower of the field.
 The grass withers, the flower fades, when the breath of the Lord blows upon it; surely [all] the people are like grass.
Isaiah 40:6-7(AMP)

  1. This reminds me of a great and powerful promise that we have, though our lives are fleeting:

    27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?... 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

    Matthew 6 (NIV)
