Did you feel the mountains tremble

Have you thought about why we were not hit with the meteor that hit Russia and the power of the explosion
or why the asteroid that was in the area 8 hrs after the meteor did not hit the earth, or why we have not been cover by avalanches skiing and why others have..
it does humble you you think how litle control we have on what comes at us.

Thank God for his mercy on us that leads us to salvation and His sovereign plan and for His many blessings and good times
but.
 - God does allow evil in this world  to bring us to repentance and uses trials to draw us and others in the world close to him --allows droughts, 3 foot of snow, power outages, meteors, floods, FLU epidemics, shootings,
we are so fragile and need God. Many still do not acknowledge God even when there is a need to, even when things happen that shake you.

All does work for good for those that believe yet it can be hard at times and faith can be tested but we must stay alert.

I heard a scientist say that most of the people hurt from the meteor (videos include in my post) saw a bright light went to the window and then the sound barrier explosion was so loud and  broke all the glass and hurt them"

He said the energy released by the explosion was equivalent to 300 kilotons of TNT, making it the largest recorded since the1908 Tunguska explosion in Siberia

Psalm 95
1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.
3 For the Lord is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.

5 The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.

Listened to the song "Did you feel the mountains tremble" by Matt Redman..

"Could this be the land of the free
Could this be the land of the free
Let salvation's waves crash on these shores again

And the tide of Your great love come rushing in
Could this be the land of the free

Did you feel the mountains tremble
Did you hear the oceans roar

Matt Redman- Did you feel the Mountains Tremble

Could this be the land of the free
Could this be the land of the free
Let salvation's waves crash on these shores again
And the tide of Your great love come rushing in
Could this be the land of the free

Did you feel the mountains tremble
Did you hear the oceans roar
When the people rose to sing of
Jesus Christ the risen one

Did you feel the people tremble
Did you hear the singers roar
When the lost began to sing of
Jesus Christ, the saving one

And we can see that, God, You're moving
A mighty river through the nations
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide, you heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord
Prepare the way

Open up the doors and let the music play
Let the streets resound with singing
Songs that bring Your hope
Songs that bring Your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice

Do you feel the darkness tremble
When all the saints join in one song
And all the streams flow as one river
To wash away our brokenness

And here we see that, God, You're moving
A time of jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide, you heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

Also was the weekend that a meteor hit Russia.

Residents of Chelyabinsk, an industrial city with the population of 1.12 million about 1,500 km east of Moscow, heard an explosion, saw a bright light and then felt a shockwave that blew out windows and damaged the wall and roof of a zinc plant.

NASA now estimated the meteor was 55 feet across before entering Earth’s atmosphere and weighed about 10,000 tons.

Said Paul Chodas of NASA’s Near-Earth Object Program Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California: “We would expect an event of this magnitude to occur once every 100 years on average.”

“When you have a fireball of this size we would expect a large number of meteorites to reach the surface and in this case there were probably some large ones,” he added.

But the big question is why once again it was Siberia where the meteor crashed after 105 years.

Meanwhile, teams busy in search and clearing debris said they had found small objects up to about one cm wide that might be fragments of a meteorite, but no larger pieces.

The regional governor of Chelyabinsk said the strike caused about one billion roubles ($33 million) worth of damage.

While life in the city had largely returned to normal by Saturday, 50 of the 1,200 people are still in hospital. Repair work had to be done quickly because of the freezing temperatures, which sank close to -20 degrees Celsius at night.

On the other hand Russia’s Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov inspected the damage after President Vladimir Putin sent him to the region. His ministry is under pressure to clean up fast.

“God forbid you should ever have to experience anything like this,” she wrote.
At 9 a.m., the sun had just risen on the Ural Mountains, which form a ridge between European Russia and the vast stretch of Siberia to the east. The area around Chelyabinsk is a constellation of defense industry manufacturing cities, including some devoted to developing and producing nuclear weapons. The factory towns are separated by great expanses of uninhabited forest.

As residents of Chelyabinsk began their day on Friday, a 10-ton meteor around 10 feet in diameter was hurtling toward the Earth at a speed of about 10 to 12 miles per second, experts from the Russian Academy of Sciences reported in a statement released Friday. Scientists believe the meteor exploded upon hitting the lower atmosphere and disintegrated at an altitude of about 20 to 30 miles above the Earth’s surface — not an especially unusual event, the statement said.

This meteor was unusual because its material was so hard — it may have been made of iron, the statement said — which allowed some small fragments, or meteorites, perhaps 5 percent of the meteor’s mass, to reach the Earth’s surface. Nothing similar has been recorded in Russian territory since 2002, the statement said.

Estimates of the meteor’s size varied considerably. Peter G. Brown, a physics professor and director of the Center for Planetary Science and Exploration at the University of Western Ontario, said it was closer to 50 feet in diameter and probably weighed around 7,000 tons. He said the energy released by the explosion was equivalent to 300 kilotons of TNT, making it the largest recorded since the1908 Tunguska explosion in Siberia, which is believed to have been caused by an asteroid.

God is awesome and powerful
Leviticus 9

23 Moses and Aaron then went into the tent of meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people; and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people. 24 Fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted for joy and fell facedown.

Coming back at the trumpet sound

Matt 24
31 The great trumpet will sound, and he will send out his angels to the four corners of the earth, and they will gather his chosen people from one end of the world to the other. 32 "Let the fig tree teach you a lesson. When its branches become green and tender and it starts putting out leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 In the same way, when you see all these things, you will know that the time is near, ready to begin. 34 Remember that all these things will happen before the people now living have all died. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. 36 "No one knows, however, when that day and hour will come - neither the angels in heaven nor the Son; the Father alone knows. 37 The coming of the Son of Man will be like what happened in the time of Noah. 38 In the days before the flood people ate and drank, men and women married, up to the very day Noah went into the boat; 39 yet they did not realize what was happening until the flood came and swept them all away. That is how it will be when the Son of Man comes. 40 At that time two men will be working in a field: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind. 41 Two women will be at a mill grinding meal: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind.
